SYNOPSIS
The Certified Internet Webmaster’s CIW Security Analyst is a mid to high level, vendor-neutral, certification for IT professionals who configure, manage and deploy e-business solutions servers; and implement e-business and network security solutions. The CIW Security Analyst is a great way to leverage a networking administration certification.

The CIW Security Analyst certification emerged in 2001. In terms of recertification, CIW exams may be retired for various reasons, including release of a new exam series, changes to related certification programs, or determination by the IT industry that a job role has become obsolete. Once retired, the exam is no longer available at testing centers, although in some cases candidates can still apply credit for a retired exam version toward a multi-exam certification. CIW offers six months prior notice for retirement of any exam so that interested candidates have time to prepare and take the exam while it is still available.

Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: network server administrators, firewall administrators, systems administrators, application developers and IT security officers.

To achieve the CIW Security-Analyst, a candidate must pass one CIW exam as well as hold, and provide proof of, one of these certifications: CIW Master CIW Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 4, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2000, Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) 4, Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) 5, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Level 2, or SAIR Level 2 LCE.

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
