SYNOPSIS • A+ vs
CompTIA’s A+ 220-603 "Remote Support" Exam is one of two exams required to achieve the A+ 2006 certification as a Remote Support Techician. The exam is meant for entry-level computer professionals, such as desktop support specialists, remote administrators and customer support personnel. This exam and has the prerequisite of A+ Exam 220-601 "Essentials" and is designed for individuals with at least 500 hours in computer technology support. Users that attain the A+ 2006 - Remote Support Technician Concentration are usually referred to as a Phone Technician, Customer Support Professional, or Remote Technician.

The official domains of the exam are:
  • Personal Computer Components
  • Operating Systems
  • Printers and Scanners
  • Networks
  • Security
  • Communication and Professionalism
Unlike the previous iteration of this exam, it will no longer involve questions on legacy operating systems, such as Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. Additionally, the A+ 220-603 exam will involve a large amount of questions that deal with soft skills and office communication, as well as some basic questions on electricity and safety procedures. Candidates that are familiar with computer technology but unfamiliar with service communication, would do well to study up on the proper method of assisting customers, coworkers and superiors. However, the exam will still ask 80 questions in traditional multiple choice and multiple answer format. The passing score for this exam is a 700 or better on a scale of 900.

Prepare for this exam like there is no tomorrow. If you've had very little or no experience dealing with computers then you must study your noggin off for this exam and make absolutely certain that you're well prepared for it. When I took The A+ exams I passed the essentials and failed the remote support technician and will be preparing to retake it soon.my main point is to prepare for this exam and don't take it lightly.

Just passed this 11 days after passing the A+ Essentials. Passed with an 830. Again, no "work" experience in the IT field, just a lot of self studying with ExamCram2 A+, and a 4 year degree. You decide.

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
